Rapid Extraction Mobility & Support (REMS)

Developed from tragedy by the United States Forrest Service the REMS module has the mission set of what can only be described as a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) or Quick Reaction Force (QRF). Those rescue models within fire service and military units have found amazing success on handling “incidents within an incident”. These are the pipe hitters that can function in chaos and get the job done.

REMS is the current deployment solution in the wildland environment. Austere, compromised, and the epitome of a VUCA-T2 environment- your rescue solution on a REMS deployment had better handle anything but “normal”.

In depth AAR dissection over the last few years of deployments has found major training gaps with real-world rescues. Mainly that fact that municipal fire departments are trying to bring in department issued heavy, thick, overly obtuse gear loads. They have never trained in any other environment outside of their training tower, and have no actual experience with anchor craft. This all leads to catastrophic rescue execution and poor performance.

This course focuses on LIGHT & FAST with specific minimalist gear that is inline with FIRESCOPES recommendations. The TTPs have been developed from Special Forces and SWAT teams with industry leaders who cross-walked the curriculum to make it applicable to the wildland environment. With a focus on Anchor Craft and hasty rescue solutions you will become better prepared to hike in for miles, insert, package, and extricate in the most expeditious manner.

This course is geared towards civilian wildland firefighters, however it is completely adaptable to any rough terrain evacuation training module that you require.
